About Sherlock Dow

Sherlock Dow serves as the Area 1 Director for the New Jersey Association of Alpha Phi Alpha Chapters and President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Central Jersey. Initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. through the Iota Rho Chapter in Fall 1992, Mr. Dow has been a committed leader within his fraternity and community. Born in Georgetown, Guyana, he immigrated to the United States with his family in 1980, laying the foundation for his remarkable journey.
Mr. Dow studied at Rutgers University where he discovered his passion for information technology, which has fueled a successful career as an executive leader in the IT industry for over 25 years. Beyond his professional achievements, he is deeply committed to inspiring others to explore their potential in S.T.E.A.M. fields through mentorship and volunteer work.
Mr. Dow’s entrepreneurial spirit has led him to establish both for-profit and non-profit ventures. His service extends to roles such as a past board member of 100 Black Men of New Jersey, National Fathers Auxiliary Chair for Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and a decade-long mentor and volunteer for the New Jersey Special Olympics.
He is happily married to Dr. Shae-Brie Dow and is a devoted father to four children and a proud grandfather to three grandsons. Mr. Dow’s life is a testament to his dedication to family, community, and the pursuit of excellence.
